How to Find Unlisted Phone Numbers

Net Detective is a great resource for finding information that is legally distributed to the public. That is why we are one of the top Public Records systems on the Internet today. We make it easy to find the information you want either by giving you the links that are hard to find for your specific area or by gathering the information and putting it in to easy to search databases, but there is some information that is harder to find in a legal manner.

Unlisted phone numbers are one of those tough to find items without the help of a Private Investigator.

But, we want to help you find that information you are looking for. Here are the ins and outs of finding Unlisted Phone numbers. This resource uses both our internal Net Detective resources and some pay for service sites.

The first things to think about are how Net Detective databases can help you find this information. There is no way for us to know if a number is listed or unlisted in general so our database can't flag Unlisted numbers for you, but our database contains something like 70 million unlisted phone numbers.

So, your first step should be to go to our People Search. A great place to find unlisted phone numbers is DMV records, Court Records, Voter Registration, and other places where a person must give our their telephone number. Net Detective People Search is made up of records gathered from many sources including some from those above. Thus, you should try to find the number first by using Net Detective.

If you do not find what you are looking for in the Net Detective People Search, then your next step should be searching our specific databases for that person. If you are using our regular version of Net Detective, you should go to the Background Search and look in the area the person lives and look in each of the Categories of records. Pay specific attention to Criminal, Public Records and DMV. Any record you find for that person in any one of those or other categories of records has a great chance of finding the Unlisted Number you are searching for.

If you still do not find the number you want then the next step would be to try out Net Detective Plus. If you are not already a member we have a special deal going on right now where you can upgrade to ND Plus for a 3-day trial for $9.95. If you don't find ND Plus worth keeping, just call us to cancel and you can still keep Net Detective with no additional fees.

Now, if you just upgraded to ND Plus or you are already an ND Plus member, your first step should be to go to Criminal Records and do the searches there. Some of those records will have the phone numbers of the offenders and that could be an unlisted number. Next, try the Specialty Search. Any of those databases may contain your person and their unlisted phone number or a little quicker way to do this would be to try the Background Wizard on your subject. The Background Wizard searches all of these databases automatically for you.

Finally, if you don't find what you are looking for, we've compiled some links to help. We are always working on obtaining access to more databases inside of ND so continue to check back, but if you can't wait, here are some links to outside sources. Many of them are pay per search, but if we don't have the number in our databases then they are probably your best bet.
