There are a few ways to locate an individual or companies email address on the web. Many of these free resources allow you to locate the email address simply by putting in the name of the person you are searching on or you can do a search in the reverse format by entering an email address to locate name and location.

1. Use search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing. Search by inputting the name with and without parenthesis. An example would be to search John Smith and " John Smith ". By using parenthesis you will get more results for the exact name. You could also try searching the name by adding the term email to your search, such as Ò John Smith emailÓ

1. Search using popular email providers. Many will offer a search function you can use to search for a person by their name. Examples of email providers are Yahoo, AOL, Gmail, Hotmail, etc

1. Try social networking web sites, such as Facebook, MySpace etc.. Search through these sites, if possible, using the person's name to see if you can come up with their email or locate them. You may find the email address posted on the profile page of the individual.

1. You can also search business web sites if you have an idea of the company the individual works for. Often businesses post direct contact emails for certain contact points related to the business. IF any schools are known on the person you are looking to find an email address, searching a school database may return results as well. There are also many online directories that are free such as 411, White Pages and Yellow Pages that may also return and email address.
